I felt the lips of time as they pressed to me
I felt the breath of time carry the breeze
Time, help me understand
Time said, "You don't get to make the demands."
Time can't hide -
I see you in smile lines
In my parents' eyes, oh why, oh why
Oh why, time?
-
Think it's early but it's overdue and I
Always thought I'd get one more chance with you
In this moment is all we got
Don't know where I'll be when that last shoe drops
Think it's early but it's overdue
I always thought I'd get one more chance with you
In this moment is all we got
Don't know where I'll be...
-
I met time - He's a friend of mine
I knew time - I could read it just fine
But the arrow of time marches on
And the weeks go so fast, but the days are so long
and I can't remember yesterday at all
-
Think it's early but it's overdue and I
Always thought I'd get one more chance with you
In this moment is all we got
Don't know where I'll be when that last shoe drops
Think it's early but it's overdue
I always thought I'd get one more dance with you
In this moment is all we got
Just one step away from that rotting box
-
And when I see the time
Slipping through my hands
Like the sand that falls through my hands
Oh, and all my loved ones are slipping through my hands
And all I know is all right now is the only time we've got
The
Chance
Now's my only chance
All my loved ones slipping like a timer, sand goes through your hands
Like the sand
And I feel it, they slip through my hands
Don't know when the big wave will come
Don't know when it'll wash away my love
All I know is right here now
It's the only chance I have
It's the only chance somehow
Oh, oh - oh, where's the time go?
Oh, Oh - oh where?
-
Think it's early but it's overdue
I always thought I'd get one more chance with you
In this moment is all we got
Don't know where I'll be when that last shoe drops
Think it's early but it's overdue
I always thought I'd get one more chance with you
In this moment is all we got
Don't know where I'll be...

Time is about my Grandpa dying and the grief that followed.
The realization of the role that time plays in even the smallest occurrences. We only feel the movement of the breeze because the placement of the air has changed over a short amount of time.
Things change, happen, and move forward because time continues to move forward.
It's about knowing time keeps moving forward and there's nothing we can do to physically be in the past again.
Losing my Grandpa felt sudden. It was a surprise. I thought we had more time. I thought we had years left.
No one thought he was going to die so suddenly. It was a shock to everyone in his life.
The only thing I can be certain of is that I am alive right now.
I can estimate, but I can't even guarantee the next 5-minutes with full proof certainty.
If we fully absorb that we can only guarantee right now, would that change how we live our lives?
